Mobility thought of differently

Mobility thought of differently

How to impress your guests with creative fringe activities that take place around your conference in Austria.

"I do believe in the horse. The automobile is no more than a transitory phenomenon," the German Emperor, Wilhelm II, is believed to have once said. Needless to say, his forecast was wrong. In Austria, in particular, developments in the transport sector progressed rapidly in the 20th century: Brands like enzel, Steyr, Daimler and Puch contributed to Austria's image as an innovative production site. Till today, the country is closely linked to the development of mobility – and your supporting itinerary of fringe activities for meetings, conventions and conferences can also benefit from this. That’s because a ride in a hovercraft, a historic steam locomotive or the Nordkette cable car will for sure stay in your guests’ memories for a long time to come.

Burgenland: Gentle exercise on a draisine tour

Are you planning a team-building event in sunny Burgenland? Or would you like to hold a conference there with your closest business partners? Then some gentle exercise in the serene natural idyll is definitely the best option to complement your programme. On the Sonnenland rail bike tour, you all cycle along a 23-kilometre-long remote railway track through the magical landscape of central Burgenland. Plan at least three hours for this activity. In addition, you can also book shuttle services, buffets at the stations, wine tastings or bring the day to a close at a wine tavern. The favourably situated wine hotel & restaurant, Das Blaufränkisch, is ideally suited for your meeting, for gastronomic services and for spending the night.

Carinthia: A unique hovercraft ride

From Lake Millstätter See to Lake Ossiacher See and to Lake Weissensee: Carinthia is famous for its sparkling blue lakes, which offer action-packed activities in summer. So, it's no wonder then, that you can actually plan a great supporting programme right here on the water. A ride in a hovercraft on Lake Wörthersee in Klagenfurt is unforgettable: the construction is reminiscent of the wings of a plane, and it hovers just above the surface of the water. Ten people have space on board for a trip that lasts approximately one hour. That makes this particular activity an ideal incentive or highlight for a corporate event. And for anyone who doesn't want to say goodbye to beautiful Carinthia so quickly, they will find exclusive accommodation in Schlosshotel Velden directly on the shores of Lake Wörthersee. And a suitable location for your event lies nearby, namely, the Domäne Lilienberg winery, where your company events are guaranteed to be a success.

Upper Austria: Gaining momentum in the KTM Motohall

Everything revolves around motorbikes and the KTM brand at the KTM Motohall in Upper Austria. In addition to guided tours of the area, you can also take a two-hour motorbike test drive on the most winding routes in the area. During a tech talk in the "living workshop," participants learn everything about the technical aspects of motorcycling and the MotoGP™ simulator provides for exciting moments, too. Guided tours are offered in groups of up to 20 people, which can even take place simultaneously. After all, the different stations in the KTM Motohall offer space for up to 100 guests. A visit to this world of motorcycle adventures is therefore not only an appropriate fringe event for incentives with your team, but also for corporate events with your partners and clients. Incidentally, there are meeting facilities for up to 400 people directly in the Motohall.

Salzburg: Crossing Lake Wolfgangsee by boat

Salzburg also has a fair share to offer when it comes to mobility: A trip with one of the ships from the Wolfgangsee Schifffahrt on Lake Wolfgangsee is idyllic. The fleet is made up of six different ships that are appropriate for differently sized groups. Two historic ships can each accommodate up to 100 people, and four modern ones can each take between 200 and 365 passengers. If you organise the trip as the crowning finale of your event, you should plan at least an hour for it. Or you can book the ships as a "floating location" and use them directly as the venue for your event, for example, to hold a gala dinner on the water. Picturesque views from aboard are certainly guaranteed.

Styria: Adrenaline-packed off-road adventure

The “green heart of Austria” also offers a particularly exciting form of mobility. During an off-road experience, you and your event guests experience action-packed bends on four different tracks around the Red Bull Ring. Take advantage of the offer to strengthen the sense of togetherness in your team and have pure fun driving in the great outdoors. Participation is best for up to 30 people, with a driving time of roughly three hours. In addition, you receive a half-hour briefing before the adventure starts. A category B driving license is a requirement, though. The Red Bull Ring and the hotels around Spielberg offer all kinds of facilities appropriate for your event’s other programme items. Get behind the wheel and drive full speed ahead towards a successful incentive!

Tirol: In lofty heights with the Nordkette cable cars

After a long meeting do you just feel the need to be outside in nature? In Tirol you’ll find the right fringe activities to enjoy the outdoors: In just 20 minutes the Nordkette cable car will transport you from the city centre of Innsbruck to Austria's largest nature park, the Karwendel. At over 2,000 metres you can enjoy a fabulous 360-degree view of the capital of the Alps and the picturesque mountains of the Karwendel. Take advantage of the tranquillity of nature for outdoor workshops and team-building activities or to relax and recharge your batteries together. Seminar rooms in the mountain station can be used before and after your event. This excursion is recommended for up to 40 guests over a period of at least two hours. A lovely highlight are the exclusive evening trips with the Seegruben cable car, where you can also book company specials.

Vienna: Above the roofs of the capital with the Ferris wheel

A ride on Vienna’s Giant Ferris Wheel is undoubtedly the perfect way to literally round off your event: a classic that never loses its appeal. Vienna’s landmark has been in motion for 125 years and never ceases to amaze visitors. The highest point is almost 65 metres above the ground and offers a breathtaking view across the capital. You can rent individual carriages exclusively and enjoy cocktails, lunch or dinner in lofty heights. Up to 15 people have space in the individual gourmet carriages, and up to 200 guests in total can make their rounds. International guests in particular will appreciate this classic item on your fringe line up.
