Kalandahaus at the Esterházy Winery


Historic event venue just outside Eisenstadt

In 2015, a historic farm administrator's building in the village of Trausdorf near the capital of Burgenland was converted into a modern event venue called the Kalandahaus. The old framework of the building has been successfully combined with contemporary architectural features to create a conference centre that is truly eye-catching. The unique ambience of the over 250-year-old farm building is the perfect setting for office parties, receptions and dinner functions, but is equally suitable for conferences, meetings, workshops and team-building events. Its location is also charming, because the Kalandahaus is part of the well-known Esterházy Winery, and nestles in a beautiful landscape of endless rolling vineyards.

A big room for a big impact

The Kalandahaus is very easy to reach either by car or on public transport. There's a bus stop just outside the entrance, or it takes only ten minutes to get there by taxi from Eisenstadt station. There are 60 parking spaces just outside the building. The highlight of the building is the 281-square-metre banqueting hall, which can seat up to 200 people and creates a stunning impression. A further meeting room in the adjacent winery and the extensive outdoor areas are also available for use. For special purposes, the venue can also be subdivided into several smaller rooms. Excellent equipment, delicious refreshments

At the Kalandahaus you'll find flipcharts with a moderator's tool kit, pinboards, a projector and screen, wireless microphones and a modern sound system with Bose speakers to make your workshop, presentation or event truly exciting. Tasty snacks such as Danish pastries and a cold spread are served as refreshments during breaks, accompanied by coffee, tea, mineral water and regional fruit juices. If you would also like a hot meal, catering can easily be organised for you. The smart kitchen is the perfect place for trying some exquisite wines from the local area and other delicacies from nearby businesses. Overnight accommodation is available at one of Eisenstadt's many hotels or at the Wilhelminenhof in Trausdorf, within easy walking distance.

Time for some group activities

When it comes to things to do away from the seminar room, there are multiple options around the Kalandahaus. Eisenstadt, the picturesque little capital city of Burgenland, with the Esterhazy Palace and its parklands, and the Haydn Church, is well worth a visit. You shouldn't miss a guided tour of the wine cellars, followed by tasting at the Esterhazy Winery, a stroll through the beautiful vineyards or a visit to Lake Neusiedl, just a few kilometres away. The mediaeval Forchtenstein Castle is worth seeing, while opera fans can get their fill of culture at the remarkable Opera in the Quarry in St. Margarethen.
