The spectacular Seifenfabrik Event Centre, a former soap factory, towers up on the banks of the Mur, just south of Graz city centre. The factory dates back to 1872 but was completely refurbished and brought back to life in 2003, since when it has become a trendy location for events of all kinds. The figures alone are impressive: the events venue measures some 1,800 square metres, with the red-brick factory forming an extraordinary backdrop. Inside are various different multifunction halls and a seminar room, while outside are extensive gardens leading down to the river. As a member of ÖKOPROFIT Graz, the charmingly rustic Seifenfabrik is also an excellent venue for green events.

Plenty of space for any occasion

There are many ways of getting to the Seifenfabrik event centre: it takes only about five minutes to walk from the Seifenfabrik bus stop to the venue. If travelling by car, you can use one of the 220 free parking spaces. Graz airport is also within easy reach, just a 15-minute drive away. If you are interested in seeing the region around the Seifenfabrik, then you could explore the cycle path that runs along the banks of the Mur directly to the venue. In addition to these excellent transport links, the Seifenfabrik is also impressive for its amazing capacity: the largest of the five event rooms, the 695-square-metre timber-framed hall, accommodates up to 800 people seated and as many as 1,200 standing. If you count the outdoor options as well, including the gardens that were redesigned in 2019, the possible number of guests rises to 2,400. The Seifenfabrik is therefore not only suitable for seminars, conferences, congresses and team-building events, but also for large-scale corporate events and Christmas parties, summer parties and anniversary celebrations with your employees.

Any equipment and refreshments you want at the Seifenfabrik event centre

Access to the Seifenfabrik is barrier-free. There is a 32-square-metre stage available which can be enlarged or reduced in size as required. The venue will be happy to arrange any technical equipment that you need, on request. The Seifenfabrik has been working for years with experienced technical partners, so hybrid events are also easy to arrange, ensuring that absent guests are able to participate online with ease. Similarly, a specialist catering company can be organised on request to provide the necessary refreshments, or you can bring the food and drink of your choice with you to Styria. There is a dedicated room at the venue for catering, making it quick and easy to set up a buffet. Not far from the event centre are several hotels, so holding a multi-day conference here is no problem.

Boat rides, barbecues and much more

There are numerous options for group activities in and around the former soap factory. Go for a ride on the event centre's "iLands": these round electric-powered boats have a journey time of around three hours and room for six people on board – perfect for unwinding between your meetings and talks with a little adventure on the water. The Seifenfabrik also offers a complete package for a memorable barbecue evening with your employees or external guests: in the magical atmosphere of the gardens, delicious treats are served up from the charcoal grill, while for those with a sweet tooth there's a crêpe-making machine. Thanks to the venue's extremely good location, any other social activities that you like can be organised: you could take a stroll along the quiet Mur or plunge into the dynamic city life of Graz.
